Coley Bailey, Grower, Mississippi

Coley Bailey farms 3,000 acres of cotton and 500 acres of grain on a farm his grandfather started in 1935. Bailey uses ESN because of its controlled-release, which allows him to do one pass at application and reduce labor. His first trial with ESN was during a wet season with a limited window for applying nitrogen to his crops. After the success he saw during his first trial, he has continued to use ESN year after year. Bailey also chooses ESN because with the small amount of resources on his farm he can apply ESN at planting and doesn’t have to worry about the availability of nitrogen to his crops for the rest of the season.
