ESN is the Smart Nitrogen for Corn in the Northern States

Field trials in Minnesota show the benefits of both fall and spring-applied ESN in corn. Fall and spring ESN applications out-yielded spring-applied urea in field trials during the growing season.

  • ESN increased grain yields 11 to 15 bu/acre over urea.
  • Based on current corn prices, total returns from ESN range from $44 to $60/acre more than urea applications.
  • The picture below shows fall-applied ESN remains intact and continues to protect nitrogen (N) through the winter, keeping it available for when the corn crop needs it.
