ESN Increases Canola Yields and Profits

A four-year study conducted by a project research team with Alberta Agriculture, funded through Nutrien and the Alberta Crop Industry Development Fund show that applications of ESN on canola provided both higher yields and an increase in profits.

The study was conducted at Beaverlodge, Alberta. Fertilizer rates were applied based on soil test recommendations for the site and ESN and urea were applied at half and full rates.

ESN out-yielded urea applications by three bu/acre at the half rate and by five bu/acre at the full rate.

Yield increases translated to a profit gain of $25.50/acre for the half rate and $40.50/acre for the full rate of ESN.
